LoRaWAN sensors can monitor parameters like pH, dissolved oxygen, turbidity, and chemical contaminants in rivers, lakes, and coastal areas. Early detection of pollution events or changes in water quality can prompt swift action to mitigate environmental damage and protect aquatic ecosystems.<\/p>\n<p>LoRaWAN technology also plays a crucial role in climate monitoring. Sensors deployed in forests, wetlands, and other natural habitats can collect data on temperature, humidity, soil moisture, and biodiversity. This information helps scientists understand ecosystem dynamics, track changes over time, and assess the impact of climate change on vulnerable ecosystems.<\/p>\n<p>Furthermore, LoRaWAN-enabled devices can monitor weather patterns and extreme events such as storms, floods, and wildfires. Due to Roskilde&#8217;s nature and geography, the area is prone to flooding and the municipality therefore has an interest in monitoring the water levels constantly. By placing the SenArch gateway directly on a field close by &#8211; completely disconnected from the grid and using only energy from our sun &#8211; it was possible to place water levels sensors in locations where normally there is no LoRa-signal coverage. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>By enabling water level sensors in these difficult locations, Roskilde Kommune was able to capture data and improve its ability to monitor and assess risk.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>[\/et_pb_blurb][\/et_pb_column][\/et_pb_row][\/et_pb_section][et_pb_section fb_built=&#8221;1&#8243;
